My head’s in the game, but my heart’s in the song.

My teacher was scarily happy that I researched the Louw guy (see last post), because compared to the other cretins I actually show an interest in what I learn. I love to learn, but this poor teacher isn’t used to the likes of me.
In English I got called a ’stupid nerd’ for knowing who Francis Drake was. I take it as a huge compliment, and it wasn’t meant in a nasty way. Yay for nerds! (Even though technically I’m a geek but he doesn’t know that…)
In more happier, random news…
I follow a handful of webcomics, but the most recent Ctrl+Alt+Del made me grin.
Also, I have noticed that the older you get, the less of a big deal it is to wear glasses. Maybe it’s just my generation, but more and more people wear them as you hit 12th grade and beyond. I get teased way less for my glasses now. It’s interesting that now even the ‘cool’ kids wear them.
Actually, today wasn’t bad at all…
if you don’t count The Dilemma. It’s quite tough to explain, but I’ll try.
Cut for The Dilemma
Monii had a little crush on Anime-boy at the start of the year. Now he’s just a friend. They are both friends with Jigglypuff, a girl in the same grade. Except that Anime has a crush on Jigglypuff, but it isn’t going anywhere as she isn’t interested. One hell of a triangle, huh? They all have problems of various kinds, Anime isn’t taking life so well right now. Monii is trying to deal with Anime’s habit of pushing people far away and out of his problems. Of course, Monii is also trying to deal with the irrational unhappiness when Anime just bluntly ignores her in favour of Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff and Monii both worry about Anime.
And today Something happened to Jigglypuff. Monii wasn’t around when the news first broke, but she seen Anime and JP heading past her… so she trotted after them like a good Monii. She reached them only to have Anime turn around, stop her with his hand.
“Not right now.”
Monii stopped, frozen. She probably looked a little like a dear stuck in the headlights, come to think of it. He was acting like she was an annoying little sibling/dog/cousin.
“Uhh… sure. No problem. Ok.” She took a step backward, stuttering all the while. Nevermind that JP was her friend too, and Monii was quite worried that JP looked like she’d been crying. And Anime took JP off, down the hall and away from Monii.
Later that day Anime came up to Monii while she was reading the noticeboard.
“I’m sorry about earlier.”
He stroked Monii’s hand and she swallowed hard.
“It’s ok.” It wasn’t ok. Monii asked if JP was alright and she just got a mumbled, angry-sounding answer. In the end Anime found the right words- he wasn’t allowed to talk about it.
A few hours later Monii found Jigglypuff and checked up on her. JP didn’t mention the problem but apologised for Anime pushing Monii away so hard. Monii didn’t say what she felt, that it wasn’t JP’s place to apologise for Anime’s actions. Monii gave JP a big hug and told her to hang in there.
And on and on the triangle goes, trying to roll along like a circle but never quite getting there. How come people keep saying that school is the best days of your life?
