I had loads of plot bunnies today, but school managed to destroy all of them. So I just have this little one to share with you.

“All of these adventurers come by here every season, each with their own heartbreaking history. I rarely see the same one twice. But within half an hour, everyone in the town knows their name. Sometimes they help us if the goblin problem gets too big or if there’s a criminal on the loose. But never once do they stop to chat. They’re always asking questions, wanting things. Never so much as a good morning from any of them. I feel like being just as rude back to them.
But no. We all know in our hearts that the adventurers keep our little town in business. We stock weapons that we don’t use, supplies that we’ll never need, in the hopes that they will buy. They always do. One season Mr Bertram painted a pile of stones blue, called them ‘Magical Deterrents’ and sold them by the handful. He made enough gold to send his daughter to university in the City the season after. “
