I couldn’t help myself- I signed up to DeviantART. If nothing else, it will give me an official place to post any fiction I’m working on. It’s so pretty there… I can’t help it. Writers tend to get overlooked, unfortunately.

Here’s a snippet of my latest offering- Groundboy. Just an idea for a space-themed story. Since that piece I’ve developd it more, but on it’s own I don’t think it’s too bad. Read it and comment to here or there, I don’t mind.

It’s so strange being off school… I keep expecting to have to go back for a class or an exam.  I get my results on the 28th of December. Once I’m 18. Then after that… I am going to arrange that party out in the city somewhere. And find a few good friends that will take care of me when I get plastered.

Wait. I don’t have any of those.

So my aunt is organising New Year festivities. And I have been told that I ‘have’ to bring a date with. Well, let’s look at my options.

B- Nice guy, but I don’t fancy him.

G- I want him, but he’s full of crap 70% of the time.

J- Too old, not interested.

J2- I want him, but he’s in the US

D- He’s cute, but in Canada

M- Very cute, I crush on him… but he’s somehow attached to another girl

Not great options, are they? All I would like is a guy to kiss on New Year’s. Is that so hard to ask? Maybe I should hire an escort.

In other news, lolsecretz had me rolling with laughter at the premise. I’ll be watching it.

So. I’m off. Secretly.

I’m watching a DVD of the 2002 Party At The Palace. They’ve got the huge stage setup, with an orchestra behind. And pretty much, when they aren’t playing, the musicians and techies are grinning at the camera, perving at the cute girl dancers or clapping and singing along. It’s pretty awesome, the acts are amazing (Brian May, Ricky Martin, Annie Lennox, Phil Collins, Will Young and Blue all within the first half hour, and those were just the ones I liked personally) and there are some nice shots of the royal family (minus the Queen herself, but Harry and William make up for that) sitting and enjoying themselves.

Of course, I really should be studying Biology, but I don’t wanna!

ETA: 42 minutes in and I realise that Phill Colins has been just sitting casually in the orchestra and playing the drums ever since his song, which was about 4 songs ago. I love that man.

ETA 2:  45 minutes in: The Corrs are beautiful singers, wow. I once partied with Andrea Corr on one New Year’s Eve. She’s really lovely.
