Archive for the Various Interesting Things Category

Here’s a selection of things from the web that I’ve found interesting recently:

1- Boys stand up against bullying by wearing pink (via My Thoughts, Ideas and Ramblings)

Two boys in the US take a stand on bullying. I, along with countless others, was picked on throughout school. It’s wonderful to see someone show that bullying isn’t cool. Click here for a follow-up story.

2-  Pretty cool photo-morphing software (via Family WebWatch)

I like the idea of making effects like morphing available to the general computer user. Not so long ago, such effects were created only at places like Pixar, and now you can do it from your own lounge. You should check out the Fun Ideas page at Morpheus Photo-Morpher, too.

3- Canine Costumes (via StumbleUpon plugin)

These are just cute. I love the jousting dog/medieval knight the best. I wonder how long it took to get those dogs to agree to wear those costumes? It gives me some ideas to try out on my own puppy…

4-  RPG Motivational Posters (via various, but this one’s from StumbleUpon)

I love these. The more jokes you get, the more you start to realize how much of your life you’ve devoted to RPGs. Of course, if you don’t get these then you’re still sane, no worries.

5- Some amazing Steampunk photographs (yep, StumbleUpon again)

This entire community enthralls me. The ‘costumes’ are truly fantastic, and some of these people, much like the Gothic subculture, wear clothing like this every day. I’m sorely tempted to favourite this forum. If you’re not up for full-costume LARP (Live Action Role Play, keep up), then at least you can admire the sheer effort and creativity that can be seen in this man’s work. If the denizens of the forum don’t mind, click here for some more costumes.

Please watch this video. This guy can sing, dude.

Phone Salesman Amazes Crowd

I guess this is becoming a regular thing, then. *makes a tag for Various Interesting Things* How is everyone today? I have so much homework I shouldn’t even been looking at blogging, but I just had to share these with you.
On Becoming A Woman, on blinkytreefrog’s livejournal. Just as scary and funny as those old US public service announcements up on YouTube, but in print form! You know, a book. Remember those?

How To Help Someone Use A Computer. Because it’s danged hard to remember times when you didn’t know how to do computery things.

Mc Donalds and a warm puppy is love. I’m getting major inspiration to write… but no, wait! Blasted homework awaits me. At least Pokemon Diamond is on it’s way.

I was browsing around today and found some nice stuff you might enjoy.

First up a post by a guy called Tom Mc Mahon. His son ended up with a brain injury at the age of 8. His post offers some real, honest advice about crisis situations. What I Have Learned In 15 Years

Next up is this awesome list of strange and cool things that you might have done when you were a kid. I’ve bookmarked this one. :) Childhood Brain Modification

Trying to decide to have kids? Reasons To Have/Not Have Kids

Taking gaming to the next level? These strange people devised a way of connecting gaming and urinating… “You’re In Control” (Notice the pun? Took me a little while to get it.)

This thread over at metafilter made me stop and think hard about my childhood. Life Altering Childhood Experiences. If you want to feel anger, sadness, hope and amusement all at once… read that thread.
One last one, then I’ll call it a night: Sexy Sentences In Different Languages. Always useful. <_<
